For the great crusade for content I set forth a designated area for the general talknoises about sounds that for some reason trigger a human emotional response.
To get things going, awhile back I got my hands on some real indie chiptune that has been a real fartknocker to actually find anything about. Chromelodeon, if yas ever heard of em, were a prog rock/chiptune/accordion enthusiast band that came from Phillie some time back and lasted till 2008. Their last album, The Final Recordings, along with the last three untitled tracks from their album Heart of Sawdust has been on my playlist nonstop for about three weeks now.
Here's what's prolly my favorite song of theirs to give ya a taste.
So whatcher all got yourselves?

This is "Stuck Pig" by indie chiptune rock band The Depreciation Guild. It was one of the first handful of chiptune tracks I heard when I first got into the scene about 4 or 5 years ago and it's still one of my faves. I own an old Game Boy and a copy of LSDJ and hope to one day make songs like these, but I'm super lazy and blog too much.

Should this be a chiptune thread? Or maybe we could add a chiptune category? But then that goes against the idea of the boards being "can-of-mixed-nuts" of awesomeness.
I'm so indecisive and have no idea how to run a forum. Blah.

Oh ho ho. I just thought chiptune fit Albotas more than the other stuff I listen to and I have been gorging on Chromelodeon. I figure this can do until there's a demand for separate threads.
Now for something completely different.

My favorite band ever, The Bronx, performing my favorite song of theirs, "Heart Attack American" which is also the first song they ever wrote together.
The true rock and roll kick-assery of The Bronx lies in their live shows. This band telepathically uses their rock to send sparks of energy into your mind, body, and soul.
Here's a live version of the above song:
What makes these guys even better is the fact that they have a side band called Mariachi El Bronx where they play legit Mariachi songs that don't suck weiners.
This song's pretty and the video has zombies:
When I first heard these dudes, I was like "yeah, they're okay, I guess. But they kinda' sound like any other punk band or whatever," then I rediscovered their first album a few years later and realized that, as familiar as their sound is, there aren't any other bands that capture what they can. I seriously never even had a favorite band until The Bronx.
